Vinegar Syndrome

Vinegar syndrome is a problem with cellulose triacetate film, in which it degrades and releases a smell resembling that of vinegar. It is possible to retard (with a molecular sieve, or by storing cool and dry in vented cans) but impossible to stop.
This is the same as The cinefilm and the microfilm (cellulose triacetate film).
We are restoring this deteriorated film as shown in this photograph.
